Three years ago, surfwear-design veterans Dean Bradley and Scott Madison set out to create their “dream brand.” Soon they made their ideas a reality with the exciting launch of Atwater at the 2006 Holiday ASR show. Since then, the brand has steadily broken through with key retailers and gained explosive popularity with surfwear and streetwear consumers alike. Atwater’s creative vision stems from a profound love of art, fashion, music, and the heritage of California beach culture. Result: a premium surfwear line combining classic surf styles with a street edge that we call “City Surf.”

In 2008 the media caught on to the Atwater vibe and the brand gained prominence through features in the Orange County Register, Orange County Business Journal, 944 Magazine, and Fuel Television. Our loyal team of athletes, bands, artists, and friends, whom we fondly call the Atwater White Tigers, promoted national recognition. Last year Atwater also saw our largest increase in sales growth at retailers like Nordstrom’s, Active, Coastal Edge, Sun Diego, Jacks, Surfside Sports, Val Surf and WRV, among many others.

With a focus on fit, quality and art, Atwater has stayed true to the legacy of our neighborhood; now we’re out to break boundaries and become an internationally distributed brand.
